The dining team at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., recently held a ‘garden party’ to celebrate produce grown on campus.

As part of the Sept. 7 event, meals made with Marist Garden-grown ingredients were offered in Murray Student Center Dining Hall, and extra servings were prepared to be donated to an area nonprofit, per a news release.

Items served included heirloom pizza pizzettes, blackberry cobbler and lemon-mint sweet tea.

Dining staff operate one bed in Marist Garden, where more than half of the produce grown is given to students or donated locally. This summer, over 25 pounds of the garden's tomatoes, radishes, lettuce and more was donated to organizations in the Poughkeepsie area.
