FSD News: Non-commercial Operators win Silver Plates

The International Foodservice Manufacturers Assn. has announced the winners of its Silver Plate Awards, given annually to nine professionals achieving excellence in foodservice management.
All winners will receive their Silver Plates--and for one of them, the Gold Plate--at the Gold and Silver Plate Celebration on May 19 at the Chicago Hilton and Towers Hotel.

The winners in non-commercial foodservice are:
--Todd Foutty, dir. of food svcs. operations at MetroHealth System, Cleveland.
--Dennis Barrett, exec. dir. of food and child nutrition svcs., Dallas Public Schools.
--Mike Bradley, dir. of auxiliary svcs. at Ashland (OH) Univ.
--Julienne Stewart, RD, foodservice manager at SAS Institute, Cary, NC.

The winners in five other categories are:
--Lee Cockerell, exec. vice pres., Walt Disney World Resorts, Lake Buena Vista, FL (specialty).
--Bert Cutino, coo of The Sardine Factory, Monterey, CA (independent restaurants).
--Ted Fowler, pres. and coo of Golden Corral Corp., Raleigh, NC (chain full service).
--Steve Ells, ceo of Chipotle Mexican Grill, Denver, CO (chain fast service).
--Joe Wancha, vice pres. and gen. mgr. of Historic Mission Inn, Riverside, CA (hotels/lodging).
