Students at Northwest Missouri State University now have one more retail outlet available to them. To that end, Buffalo Wild Wings has teamed up with Sodexo, which runs foodservice at the university, to open a Buffalo Wild Wings Go location on campus. The concept opened in April and menus the chain’s classic chicken wings, sandwiches, wraps and sides, for both dine-in and takeout orders. In addition to its food menu, the concept also serves beer.
“We wanted to bring a concept that would be exciting to our students, employees and the community,” Dr. Matt Baker, Northwest’s vice president of student affairs, said in a statement. “Buffalo Wild Wings Go was presented as an option, and it seemed like a great fit. The feedback we have received so far about the quality of food and service has been outstanding.”
Diners can stop by the new location Monday through Thursday between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.to midnight Friday and Saturday.
The university also offers several other retail outlets including Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, McAlister’s Deli and Qdoba Mexican Eats.
Restaurants have been popping up more often in non-traditional locations such as college campuses, as of late. In addition, some restaurants have been using the opportunity to test out new technology and concepts, such as the Buffalo Wild Wings Go format. In 2022, Subway launched a new format in hopes of adding locations in places like airports and college campuses. The format, which is a smart fridge, is more advanced than a regular vending machine and meets the demand of on-the-go customers.
Another way restaurants have been making their way on college campuses is through partnerships with Virtual Dining Concepts. Earlier this year, Sodexo teamed up with the virtual restaurant brand to bring AC Barbecue to Jackson State University.
