Trojan Hospitality, the on-campus dining services department at the University of Southern California (USC), has opened McKay’s, a new restaurant concept in the USC Radisson Hotel just steps from the school’s new Galen Center arena and a few blocks from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where the football team plays its home games.

Named for legendary USC football coach John McKay, McKay’s is intended to draw diners from the crowds going to and from games, as well as from those without tickets. The casual, contemporary American menu was created by Trojan Hospitality Chef Andrew Bice, incorporating local seasonal ingredients into each dish. McKay’s will also feature a bar/lounge area, as well as a main dining area and a private dining room. Veteran hotel restaurant manager Peter Kolla will oversee McKay’s as well as the other aspects of Trojan Hospitality’s new dining program at the USC Radisson as associate director of operations.

“With McKay’s we are giving students a great option for off-campus dining and introducing another sit-down restaurant into a community that lacks a wide selection of full service restaurants,” says Trojan Hospitality Director Scott Shuttleworth. In addition to McKay’s, Shuttleworth is developing another restaurant concept for the Radisson, as well as a third next door. “When all three restaurants are open it will completely change the dynamic of the Figueroa Blvd. corridor at USC’s busiest entrance,” he adds.
