When you look at this year’s Silver Plate class the word dedication comes to mind. First you have Mary Hill, of Jackson Public Schools, who has been with her district for her entire foodservice career—32 years—and served as the president of the School Nutrition Association. Then there’s Nona Golledge, of the University of Kansas, who started at the college as a “stepping stone” to somewhere else but has since been on campus for 27 years. Golledge also represented her segment’s association, NACUFS, as president. Next is Edward Sirhal, president of Restaurant Associates, who helped lead the contract management company’s explosion from 15 accounts in 1991 to 160 in 2014, and also served as SFM’s president in 1989. Last is Julie Jones, of OSU Wexner Medical Center, who has overhauled every aspect of her expansive operation in her 23 years with the system.
