The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) presented its 2011 William W. Carpenter Award to John Nackley, CFSP, president of InterMetro Industries Corp. during the group's NAFEM Show on February 11 in Orlando. The Carpenter Award is the association’s highest honor, given to a foodservice industry professional who has continually contributed to NAFEM’s success and to the enrichment of the foodservice industry at-large.

"On behalf of NAFEM, I am pleased to present this award to a great leader who is recognized in the industry for his intuitiveness and intellect,” said NAFEM President Steven Follett, CFSP, who is also president, CEO and chairman of Follett Corp. “When John Nackley’s name is mentioned in the industry, there isn’t an industry organization allied to NAFEM that has not been touched personally by his skill and passion.”

Nackley joined the foodservice industry 26 years ago and has been a prominent figure within NAFEM and the industry. He served for 15 years on the NAFEM Board of Directors and was NAFEM president in 2000-2001.
