Mazzone Lands Albany Convention Center Catering Deal

Mazzone Hospitality will manage the catering and culinary services at the $66.5 million convention center in downtown Albany that's scheduled to open in late 2016, reports the Albany Business Review. The deal with SMG Convention and Exhibition Centers will run through 2020. Mazzone, which also holds the catering contract at Empire State Plaza in Albany, catered 3,000 events in 2013 and also manages seven restaurants. SMG was awarded a six-year contract to manage the Albany convention center in August 2014. The company also manages the Times Union Center in Albany.
