House of Representatives Composting Program Suspended

The food composting program that was part of the Green the Capitol initiative under the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives has been halted by the new Republican majority, which claims that the program fell short of its goals, reports the Hill. Republican leaders claim that the program was not cost-effective and did not make an appreciable difference in reducing energy usage or greenhouse gas emissions.
