FM's Best Concept awards competition recognizes and celebrates innovative thinking and practice in noncommercial foodservice. Each year, our editors pore over entries for scores of nominees in a series of elimination heats before settling on a final list of winners. They base their award decisions on a variety of factors that range from the impact of a given program, its effectiveness in achieving targeted results, the influence it may have on others in the field and, most importantly, the level of innovation they believe it represents given standard practices in a particular noncommercial segment of the industry.
In recognition of the great breadth of operations that exist in noncommercial foodservice in terms of scale, available resources, operational requirements and inherent challenges, we honor multiple winners in each category with no hierarchical ranking. Our top award, "Best of Show," recognizes a facility or organization our editors believe sets an exceptional, segment-wide standard in several of the individual categories.
