Informa, the international B2B Markets, and Digital Services, and Academic Markets Group and parent company to Food Management, Nation’s Restaurant News and CREATE, today announced the acquisition of Winsight, the B2B information, event, and market intelligence company that owns Restaurant Business as well as the National Restaurant Association Show, Restaurant Leadership Conference, FSTEC, Technomic, and more.

Informa’s combined group will serve a global audience of over 2 million foodservice and retail professionals and creates a unified business that offers unparalleled subject-matter expertise across the entire restaurant and food industries. That is particularly true in the United States, where it will be able to deliver best-in-class content services and experiences driven by the combined strengths of the properties across media, events, and research.

“It is a very exciting time for Informa. Winsight’s premier assets coupled with Informa’s thriving restaurant and food media and events businesses create an immediate market-leading position in the U.S. and abroad,” said Joe Donnelly, Group Director & Publisher of Informa’s Restaurant & Food Group. “Most importantly, this combination will allow us to do more for our readers, attendees, and customers, in providing the information, insights, and connections they need to excel in their businesses.”

Informa’s Restaurant & Food Group comprises the publications Nation’s Restaurant News, Restaurant Hospitality, Supermarket News, and Food Management, as well as the event platform CREATE and the culinary award program MenuMasters.

Along with Restaurant Business, Winsight owns the publications CSP, Winsight Grocery Business, and FoodService Director; events such as the National Restaurant Association Show, Restaurant Leadership Conference, Global Restaurant Leadership Conference, FSTEC, CSP Outlook Leadership, and MenuDirections; and the market research firm Technomic.
