Under a five-year agreement, Metz will operate the school's residential and retail dining programs beginning in January 2014.
Florida A&M University (FAMU) has partnered with Metz Culinary Management to provide dining services for students, faculty, staff and guests effective January 2, 2014. Under the five-year agreement, Metz Culinary Management will employ 150 foodservice employees and initiate a number of facility enhancements and capital improvements.
“We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with FAMU that will transform the university’s dining services into one of the nation’s premier foodservice programs,” said Jeff Metz, President and CEO at Metz Culinary Management.
“Students and faculty will start to see changes in the coming months as we upgrade services and facilities. We also have business relationships with many well-known national brands that we are excited to introduce to FAMU in the near future.”
According to the university, Metz Culinary Management was selected due to the company’s breadth of business partner relationships, attractive financial package, flexibility, site visit scores at client facilities and superior responses from reference interviews. When the five-year partnership with Metz Culinary Management reaches its conclusion, FAMU has the option of renewing for an additional five years.
Of the 150 Metz Culinary Management foodservice employees at FAMU, there will be a number of opportunities for students available, including internships.
On January 2, Metz Culinary Management will start to provide dining services for the Residential Dining Facility (Café) and Rattler’s Nest. Metz Culinary Management will operate dining services for all retail locations on campus, in addition to the College of Engineering, College of Law and President’s dining facilities.
