Dinner in the Dark at The Retreat in Noyer Complex was a theme meal event at Ball State University designed to raise awareness of energy consumption, reports the BSU Daily News. The dinner, held appropriately enough on Halloween night, was co-sponsored by the school's dining services and the Ball State Energy Action Team (BEAT).

The event was also used to promote the ongoing Residence Hall Energy Challenge, a competition sponsored by BEAT that pits residence halls against each other in a race to see which uses the least amount of energy over the course of the competition.
