NACUFS moved its HQ to the campus of Michigan State University...Mary Hitchcock Hospital of Hanover, NH, experimented with a new concept—made-to-order deli sandwiches for patient lunches.

A federal appeals court in Grand Rapids fined group purchasing organization VHA $430,000 for contract terms that required members to buy at least $2,000 worth of supplies per bed each year before rebates were paid...Minuteman Regional School in Lexington, MA, was negotiating with McDonald's Corp. to open a fast food restaurant within the school.

An FM case study found that when residents of a Riverdale, NY, nursing home were allowed to participate in planning and preparing meals, complaints about the food took a sharp downturn. In a guest column, Jerry Berkman of then Cedars of Lebanon Hospital extolled the idea of the one-day, multiselect hospital menu.
