No matter how you slice it, stab it, or scoop it, mealtime utensils serve one purpose, and that is to make eating easier. So when we came across this ingenious cutlery hybrid drawing quite a bit of attention, we thought it best to share a bite.

Think of it as a new and improved version of the beloved spork. With a spoon at one end, a fork at the other, and a serrated-knife edge, this hybrid crafted piece of cutlery brings a bit of civilization to the wild and a bit of the wild to civilization.

Designed especially for Light My Fire by Scandinavian designer Joachim Nordwall, this two headed utensil rescues us from the age old dilemmas facing more traditional spork varieties. Those being the tines, which are typically too feeble to spear a sizable chunk of meat. Plus their presence make it that much harder to eat soup. Not to mention the fact that cutting anything is a sheer impossibility.

Unlike its predecessor, the Light My Fire Spork wasn't designed to be a stand-alone product, but part of a meal kit for backpackers. With rugged use in mind, Nordwall constructed it of heat-resistant plastic that won't warp when placed in boiling water.
