Due to an overwhelming volume of patients and families in our emergency department (ED), we created a snack cart. When volume is up, wait times also go up, so taking a cart stocked with sandwiches, chips, whole fruit and popcorn allows families to get some nourishment without leaving the ED. Prices are kept low to accommodate families; we don’t make a profit.
