Ocean Spray has jumped into the energy drink market with its new Cranergy line of juice-based beverages. The noncarbonated drinks consist of cranberry juice fortified with vitamins and green tea extract. The low-calorie drinks come in cranberry and raspberry-cranberry flavors.

Starbucks Corp. plans to add more lower-calorie versions of its ready-to-drink bottled Frappuccinos next year through its joint venture with PepsiCo, Inc. Starbucks already sells a Mocha Lite ready-to-drink Frappuccino with 85 calories in one 8-oz. serving.

The Sunny Delight Beverages Co. has signed a licensing agreement with Kraft Foods to produce and market Kraft's Crystal Light ready-to-drink bottled beverages. Kraft will make and sell the powdered version, and Kraft Foodservice will distribute the bottled drink to segments such as colleges and the vending market.

Lancer Corp. has entered into a patent licensing agreement with Flo-Onics Systems, Inc., to develop valve technology that can be used in various beverage dispensing applications.
