Purdue University unveils remodeled Atlas Family Marketplace

The first floor of the school’s Memorial Union features 11 new eateries and an updated c-store.

Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., this week opened the revamped first floor of its Memorial Union on campus, now dubbed the Atlas Family Marketplace.

The new marketplace is home to 11 dining concepts as well as an updated c-store.

Eateries include Halal-focused Aatish, an outpost of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, and several concepts from Cornerstone Restaurant Group, which partnered with Chicago chefs such as Bill Kim and John Manion to bring Asian, Italian and Latin dishes to the revamped space.

In addition, the area offers a fireplace lounge, outdoor fire pits and seating for more than 1,000.

Workshop Architects and Tipton Associates contributed to the renovation project, which cost $47 million.
