University takes cafe in new direction

The University of Maryland at College Park has opened a cafe serving sushi, customizable ramen and specialty teas, in addition to traditional deli fare, The Diamondback reports.                                       

The cafe, called Samovar, was originally slated to offer only standard deli options, but students and faculty requested that more unique items be added to the menu. The cafe’s offerings, as well as its name, aim to reflect the college’s international departments housed in the same building.
