The University of Washington in Seattle has named named Gary Goldberg director of dining.

Goldberg—formerly the director of dining services at the University of Akron—brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role where he will oversee 40 units, including espresso units, restaurants, Bay Laurel Catering and the District Market.

A strong proponent of self-operated campus dining, Gary has expertise in analyzing what is working at a food operation and what could be improved.

Gary says he regards himself as a role model for how to provide dining quality, variety and value.

“I look forward to engaging the university chefs and managers to elevate a dining program already held in high regard,” Goldberg said in a news release.
