The University of Montana in Missoula said it is bringing a new director of dining on board, replacing longtime director Mark LoParco.

Camp Howard, who most recently held the FSD post at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, will assume the role on March 13.

LoParco is retiring after more than two decades at the University of Montana. He also served as  president of NACUFS during the 2013-14 term and was the recipient of IFMA’s Silver Plate Award in 2014.

“With 19 years of collegiate foodservice administrative experience and an additional 11 years as an executive chef, Howard will continue UM Dining’s mission and commitment to providing UM students, faculty and staff with the most delicious, nutritious and sustainably sourced food available,” Tom Crady, the university’s vice president for enrollment and student affairs, said in a statement. “A champion for sustainable business practices, [Howard] will continue to work collaboratively with campus and community partners to perpetuate and strengthen Missoula’s local food system.”

LoParco will retire at end of the current semester, the university said.
