Elon University trustees have voted to retain the Chick-fil-A unit on campus after some members of the campus community had tried to get the chicken chain booted for being anti-gay, reports the Times News. Chick-fil-A had become embroiled in controversy recently following remarks by CEO Dan Cathy against same-sex marriage.

Elon's Student Government Association had voted to evict the chain from campus but the vote was vetoed by the SGA president. Chick-fil-A has a contract with Elon's foodservice provider, Aramark, which remains in effect, though the unit will move next fall to a different location on campus due to a renovation project unrelated to the controversy.
