In this month’s recap of the Top 5 most popular college and university Food Management articles, the top story was Trinity University being sued over a food-allergen-related death. Included in a 5 things roundup, a lawsuit was filed against the college in Illinois claiming a freshman died after eating contaminated food at the campus dining hall last summer.

In other news, Franklin & Marshall College formed a partnership with local micro-roaster Square One Coffee. The partnership makes sense to both groups, with the college’s Diplomat Dining already having several local partnerships with produce vendors, and Square One’s representative commenting that that company has been working to expand its reach to other local businesses.

Other top stories:

  • Texas State students go all-in on new reusable to-go containers;

  • Colleges expand kosher, halal offerings; and

  • AI-powered machines replace bar-code scanners in on-campus markets at Texas State.
