Aladdin’s Mobile Mart creates value-added dining for students at Ave Maria University
M2 serves grab and go selections and convenience store-like items such as candy, chips, assorted beverages, and other packaged snacks.
Just in time for back to school, Aladdin Campus Dining’s new M2 Mobile Mart made its debut at Ave Maria University in Florida, offering students a value-added dining option. The school’s dining partner since 2008, Aladdin purchased and designed the new dining outlet for the university with the goal of providing convenience and increasing meal plan participation as students can use their meal plan exchange or flex dollars at the M2, which also acts as a kind of rolling convenience store.
The small but mighty M2 is wrapped with signage proclaiming the school’s Gyrenes mascot name, which refers to a nickname given to the U.S. Marines and symbolizes bravery, according to the school’s website. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the M2 currently resides on a campus main walkway that connects student housing with the academic buildings.

“M2 is positioned on this high-foot traffic area, which is convenient for students who on their way to and from classes can purchase something quick to eat, drink, or just a snack,” explains Aladdin Regional Operations Manager Rami Golden.
With two refrigerators, two hot boxes that keep food at an optimal temperature and three coffee air pots, the M2 provides several food options. For breakfast, students can purchase hot coffee, bagels and Danish while lunch and dinner features a rotating menu with house-made cold and hot grab-and-go sandwiches, freshly pre-made salads and an extension of food specials that are offered in the campus café. The selection also includes convenience store-like items such as candy, chips, assorted beverages, and other packaged snacks.
The M2 also serves concessions during sports and special events and is available to book for other catered functions both during the day and evenings.
“M2 lights up, creating a destination dining experience for nighttime activities,” Golden notes.
Operated by Kathleen Nuttle, the M2 also accepts cash and credit in addition to meal plan exchange and flex dollars, so faculty, parents and other guests can make purchases.
