UMD Dining Services operates three dining halls with a combined 21 food stations, plus 13 cafes, two restaurants, five c-stores and a 13-concept mix in the Adele H. Stamp Student Union, including major commercial brands like Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, Subway, McDonald’s and Auntie Anne’s.

In collaboration with the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources and the Office of Sustainability, UMD Dining recently established Terp Farm, a sustainable farming operation at the Upper Marlboro research farm facility. It will offer four-season vegetable production for selected dining halls and the Green Tidings food truck, as well as provide produce to food-insecure members of the campus and College Park communities.

To celebrate the school’s joining of the Big 10 Conference, UMD debuted a BIG 10 ice cream flavor, enhanced its concessions offerings at sporting events and is partnering with Intercollegiate Athletics to promote the Drive to Zero Waste initiative in Byrd Stadium this football season.

Among new on-campus dining venues are Quantum Café in the Physical Sciences Complex and a relocated The Dairy in the Stamp Student Union. On the sustainability front, UMD increased its sustainable food sourcing to 14.8% in the past year and launched Green Tidings truck with its local/sustainable menu.
