House Eliminates Polystyrene From Its Cafeterias for Second Time
Packaging, said to be bad for the environment, had been banned earlier but brought back after GOP took control in 2011.

The cafeterias at the U.S. House of Representatives have decided to stop serving in foam food packaging after Democrats pushed for a ban, reports the Hill. It is the second time the use of polystyrene (aka Styrofoam) has been eliminated from House cafeterias. When she was speaker, current Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had banned it but Republicans brought it back when they took the majority in 2011. The Democratic-controlled Senate does not use polystyrene.
