Touring the Marines' Foodservice Operations

Jay Silverstein got the trip of a lifetime when he spent almost a month touring the best of the Marines’ foodservice as part of the NRA Military Traveler Program. The vice president of real estate and services for Credit Suisse represented the Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management and served as a judge helping determine the WPT Hill Awards for excellence in Marine Corps foodservice.
He was impressed with what he saw and said mess halls were as good as you’d see in any corporate or college setting. The field mess halls were impressive, too, especially considering they were intended to simulate the experience troops would have out in the field.
