We’ve tried a lot of contests to boost M Dining’s social media follower numbers. Trivia contests, photo contests, selfie contests. … We found that the same handful of people were participating and it was a small number. The contests weren’t helping build our community. About four years ago we ran a Random Acts of Kindness giveaway during final exams. The only thing we asked was that people follow us. No other commitment was needed. Then, for a week, we randomly selected followers on all three platforms and awarded prizes. We always see a jump in numbers when we run this contest.
