In October, the foodservice department started working closely with principals and cafeteria staff to develop ways to incentivize parents and students to come to school early for breakfast. The program included developing a marketing plan and website to renew emphasis on the vitality of school breakfasts. Earlier that year, the district held a Breakfast Summit at Kapi‘olani Community College, during which students shared breakfast recipes with a Breakfast Leadership Team and discussed possible new menu options.
