Robert C. Wood will retire on Jan. 1 as executive vice president for client development for Sodexo and become a consultant to the company’s operations in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley region.

Wood’s father M.W. “Scotty” Wood had founded Wood Dining Services, which Sodexo acquired in 2001.

He began his career with the family firm in 1959. His first professional role with the organization was in 1967 as a sous chef at DeSales University. Over the course of his career Wood worked in a variety of operations and corporate management positions and in 1997 assumed the position of chairman, where he remained until the company was purchased by Sodexo.
