OWENSBORO, Ky. — Sodexo and the Kentucky Wesleyan Student Government Association have teamed up to stomp out hunger in the community.

Sodexo officials say 14 hundred dollars was raised by selling paper hearts around campus for a dollar. The student government association matched 700 dollars. The money collected was used to purchase 79 cases of food that will be distributed to Daviess County schools through the backpack program.  “We wanted to do more, but 21 hundred dollars will feed a lot of children and that's what it is all about. If we could have just done one child then that would have been an improvement over nothing,” said William J. Haliburton Jr., Sodexo General Manager Kentucky Wesleyan College.
