Sodexo Positions Founder's Daughter to Succeed as Company Chair

The Board of Directors of Sodexo has appointed Sophie Bellon Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, in order that she succeed her father, Chairman/Company Founder Pierre Bellon, as Chairman in two years.

The Board of Directors of Sodexo has appointed Sophie Bellon Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, in order that she succeed her father, Chairman/Company Founder Pierre Bellon, as Chairman of the Board of Directors in two years. In addition, the Board, in agreement with CEO Michel Landel, gave Sophie Bellon responsibility for the company's research, development and innovation strategy with a specific focus on Quality of Life.

A graduate of Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord (EDHEC) business school, Sophie Bellon began her career in 1985, first in finance and then in the fashion industry. She became a member of Sodexo's Board of Directors in 1989. After almost a decade in the U.S., she joined the company in 1994 and has held a variety of posts, including project manager in the finance department, Director of Strategic Control, Group Director of Client Relations and Managing Director for Sodexo's Corporate segment in France.
