Sodexo has been awarded a four-year contract to manage the foodservice facilities of the U.S. House of Representatives, starting August 10. It replaces Restaurant Associates, which ran the dining services since 2007.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The contract covers all House cafeterias, catering services and vending machines. Restaurant Associates will continue to provide foodservice to the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center and the U.S. Senate.

Sodexo says it will emphasize convenience, nutrition and quality. Renovations are scheduled to begin immediately, and certain cafeterias will close temporarily throughout the August recess.
