Sodexo has been awarded a four-year contract with the U.S. House of Representatives starting August 10, 2015 that includes management of food service operations for all House cafeterias, catering services and vending machines. Sodexo replaces the previous operator, Restaurant Associates, which continues to provide food service to the U.S. Senate and the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.

Sodexo operates and manages food service for a number of government agencies in the Washington, D.C. area, including the Department of Transportation, Department of the Interior, U.S. Patent and Trade Office and the Department of Defense.

“Sodexo has served U.S. government clients for more than 40 years and it is one of the only large-scale companies in the industry to have a division dedicated to government agencies,” said David Scanlan, president, government services, Sodexo, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Around the world Sodexo provides food service for the U.S. military, federal agencies, first responders, dignitaries and business executives. We are pleased to add the U.S. House of Representatives to that list of distinguished and valued partnerships.”
