Sodexo Exec Stephen Brady Passes Away

Stephen Brady, a veteran Sodexo executive who started the company's Sodexo Foundation effort and was one of the industry's leading activists in the areas of social outreach, passed away recently at age 66. Brady began his career with Sodexo in 1990 as vice president of strategic development and over the last 19 years also served as vice president of healthcare operations and regional vice president of education operations. He later served as vice president of marketing and communications before being appointed senior vice president of corporate communications.

Brady started the Sodexo Foundation in 1999 and served as its president. In recent years he directed its efforts to hunger prevention among young people, including the launch of the Stop Hunger scholarship program in 2007. Since its inception, the Sodexo Foundation has distributed more than 945 grants, totaling more than $15 million to hunger-related organizations.
