Sodexo CEO Michel Landel will retire from his role at the helm of the facility services company early next year, at which time he will be succeeded by Sodexo executive Denis Machuel, the company has announced.

In preparation for the change, Machuel—who serves as CEO of Benefits and Rewards Services and Personal and Home Services for Sodexo, and also holds the role of group chief digital officer—will become deputy CEO of Sodexo on Sept. 1. In that capacity, he will work alongside the current CEO until Landel officially steps down on Jan. 23, 2018.

Landel will remain on the company’s board of directors for the full length of his term, which ends in January 2020.
