Portland State University has engaged Aramark to manage its dining services beginning July 1, according to the campus’s Daily Vanguard newspaper. Sodexho, the current on-campus food service provider, had its contract ended after two years, with the university giving 120 days notice. It originally signed a seven-year deal (replacing Aramark) in July 2005 but the university decided to opt out five years early. A buyout in which Aramark will pay Sodexho for any remodel or alteration Sodexho made in the food court is the only financial change that will take place during the transition, the Vanguard reported officials as saying.
