Guckenheimer Names New CEO

Guckenheimer Enterprises, Inc., has named Randall Boyd as CEO and COO, succeeding co-founder Jeanie Ritchie, who will continue to serve as executive chairman of the board.

“Randall is a true leader with a proven track record of success and the big-picture thinking we need to bring Guckenheimer into a new era,” says Ritchie who offered Boyd the position following a senior level consulting assignment with the company.

Boyd began his career with IBM in 1979, serving in various capacities in the sales, marketing and strategy areas before joining airline concessions firm Sky Chefs in 1989 as vice president of marketing & sales. He was promoted to senior vice president in 1992. 

In 2001, following the acquisition of the company by Lufthansa, Boyd was named CEO of Sky Chefs' Americas Regions, as well as global executive vice president of marketing & sales and a member of the company's Global Executive Board. Under his leadership, Sky Chefs became the world’s largest provider of in-flight catering, servicing 210 airlines in 41 countries. In 2002, Boyd was awarded the Inflight Food Association’s President’s Award for successfully leading the industry through intense security regulatory changes following the events of September 11.

Founded in 1963 in Silicon Valley by the late Dr. C. Stewart Ritchie III and his wife Jeanie, Guckenheimer now serves 300 accounts in 31 states with annual revenues of $228 million in 2012. Almost all of the business is in the B&I segment.
