Centerplate operates foodservice at more than 300 venues, including NFL stadiums, Major League ballparks, NBA/NHL arenas as well as two-dozen minor league teams and more than 30 colleges.
The company replaced its chief executive late last year as COO Chris Verros was elevated to president/CEO following the resignation of Des Hague. It also announced the integration of its facility design/construction, capital project planning, equipment procurement and strategic consulting practice teams into a single Hospitality Solutions Group.

The major operational news in 2014 was the opening of Levi’s Stadium, new home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, where Centerplate provides F&B services across both general admission and premium areas, as well as retail services for the team store and merchandise outlets. Services at AT&T also include stadiumwide delivery of food and beverage as well as merchandise via the Levi’s Stadium app.
Also in 2014, Centerplate’s partnership with the Miami Dolphins and Anheuser-Busch launched @BeerMe, the first official stadium beer-ordering system through Twitter and technology partner Appetize.
New clients in 2014 included the National World War II Museum in New Orleans.
Centerplate’s Restaurant Group launched its second Sophie’s premium dining unit at Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota, Fla. International expansion accelerated with the signing of Spanish soccer club Atlético de Madrid for services at its new home field and the acquisition of Scotland-based caterer Heritage Portfolio Ltd, which holds a Royal Warrant from the Queen of England as a supplier of catering services.
