Sodexo, Inc., has appointed Lorna Donatone as a company COO and president of the Education Market. Donatone, currently president of the company's School Services Division (part of the Education Market), will succeed Rick Brockland, who will retire after nearly four decades of service with the company.

Donatone's new role begins on February 1, 2010. She will oversee operations and strategic growth for Sodexo's operations at college and university campuses and public school districts and private schools in the United States. Her focus will include driving growth for Sodexo's emphasis on comprehensive service solutions in the education market, which includes a wide range of services that build on the company's offerings in facilities management and dining services.

“Lorna has consistently delivered strong results for Sodexo in the 10 years she has been with the company, both as the president of Spirit Cruises and in her current role with School Services,” says President /CEO George Chavel. “Under Lorna's leadership, our School Services Division has experienced significant sales and retention growth. As well, Lorna has positioned Sodexo as a leader in student nutrition and well-being. She has demonstrated expert knowledge of the needs of students, parents, administrators and communities.”
