Two current contracts consolidated into a single one with a current annual value of more than $16 million are up for bid at Mount Rushmore National Park, reports the Rapid City Journal.

The two deal involves concessions/retail operations and parking, with the former currently held by Xanterra Parks & Resorts and the latter by a local nonprofit called Mount Rushmore Society. Last year, according to research by the Journal, the concessions and retail operations generated $12.6 million in gross receipts while parking generated $4.1 million.

The RFP is for a 10 year deal but includes a $5.6 million leaseholder surrender interest consideration to be paid to Xanterra (assuming it is not the winning bidder) for its past investments in infrastructure.
