Compass Names Higher Ed Sales VP

David Dunn, a vice chancellor at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, has been named vice president of sales for higher education at Compass Group North America, which is based in Charlotte, reports the Charlotte Business Journal. Dunn, first vice chancellor for university relations and community affairs, was the school’s liaison with the state General Assembly in Raleigh, and worked in that capacity to secure appropriations and state funding for UNC-Charlotte.
A UNC-Charlotte alum, Dunn was appointed to his current position—a newly creatred one at the time—at the beginning of 2006 after serving as associate vice chancellor for alumni affairs and special assistant to the chancellor for constituent relations. He joined the university in 2003 after a career in insurance and financial services, which included co-founding and subsequently serving as president of, ManagedCare USA, a national managed workers’ compensation organization. He also later founded the Dunn Group, for which he served as consultant following the sale of ManagedCare USA.
