On the eve of the opening of its major new account at San Francisco's Levi's Stadium, concessions specialist Centerplate is dealing with a controversy surrounding CEO Des Hague that has become a major story in the mainstream press. Hague had been caught on an elevator surveillance camera abusing a dog and subsequently admitted and apologized for the incident.

On August 27th, the company issued a statement detailing the results of a special meeting of its board of directors following the completion of an internal investigation. The board gave Hague a written censure and placed him on indefinite probation noting that any further acts of misconduct would result in immediate termination.

As a condition of his continued employment, Hague will also personally donate $100,000.00 towards the establishment of the Sade Foundation (Sade was the name of the dog he abused) to help support the protection and safety of animals in the city of Vancouver where the incident occurred.

He will also be required to serve 1000 hours of community service in support of an organization that serves to protect the welfare and safety of animals.

Centerplate has also pledged to contribute a portion of its sales to the Sade Foundation and open it to all its employees and the general public who want to support its mission.

Hague still faces criminal charges in Vancouver.
