Aramark's Boston Convention Ctr. Contracts Terminated

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority will terminate Aramark’s concessions conctract with the Hynes and South Boston convention after 14 years. The company has had an ongoing dispute with the local labor union, a matter the MCCA cited in its letter announcing the decision, though it placed most of the blame on “customer dissatisfaction” due to inadequate quality and service levels.

The business, which is worth about $27 million a year according to a report in the Boston Herald, will either be rebid early next year when Aramark leaves, or will become self-operated, says the MCCA
