Denis Ellis (c.), retired executive chef at the University of Notre Dame, was honored recently with a classical eight-course dinner by the American Academy of Chefs, the honor society of the American Culinary Federation. It was the first-ever academy dinner at a university, according to Notre Dame.

Aramark has introduced "AMP Up with Breakfast," a new K-12 breakfast program that offers easy-to-implement breakfast delivery options for classrooms, cafeterias and/or portable stations, with a focus on convenience. It features more than 400 grab and go products to build a new breakfast program menu or enhance existing breakfast offerings. Options include fruits, hot foods, cereals, breakfast snacks, yogurt, smoothies and juice beverages.

The program was being launched in Aramark-managed school districts across the country during National School Breakfast Week in early March.

"We are dedicated to providing students with a nutritious breakfast," says Aramark Education Services President Dennis Maple. "Studies reveal that students are more alert and perform better in class when they eat breakfast, and student attendance also improves."

Aramark operates in more than 420 school districts nationwide and serves nearly 350 million meals annually to K-12 students.
