The nutrition services team at Houston Independent School District has partnered with students to create artwork for seed packets for the community, the district announced.
Fourteen seventh- and eighth-graders from Meyerland Performing and Visual Arts Middle School in Houston created artwork for the packets, which will be handed out at health fairs, used as giveaways at school events and given as gifts.
“As a department, we’ve been shifting our focus to community gardens, and this project is an extension of our goal,” said Nan Cramer, community outreach dietitian for the district’s nutrition services team. “We’re excited to get the packets printed up and distributed out.”
