Nutrition Info Goes Overboard

Apparently, technology firm EDS thinks there is a market out there for people who wish to be nagged about their food choices while they are grocery shopping. According to a recent report in Reuters, the company is floating the idea of shopping carts that record the nutritional content of items placed in them and keep a running tally.
Great. Does a horn sound when you’ve hit some magic caloric number? Or what about beaming out a wireless signal that prompts an in-store announcement like “Fatso leaving Aisle Three with full cart—will an associate please go and restock the Ding Dongs.”
