The farm-to-table trend has taken ahold of hospitals and elder care facilities in and around Milwaukee, according to OnMilwaukee.com.

With the addition of chef Jeff Johnson in 2012, locally sourced foods have become more prevalent on the menus of Watertown Regional Medical Center.

After Johnson took over Watertown’s foodservice program, he redesigned the hospital’s cafeteria, revamped all meals to be made-from-scratch and implemented an 11,000-square-foot garden.

Watertown isn’t the only place where the changes to local fare can be seen, as The Lutheran Home and Harwood Place have both been impacted as well.
