One of the cocktails served at the Glendalough Immersive Dining Experience in Chicago, A Smashing Choice begins with muddled basil and carries those herby-sweet notes into sour/salty sips, with lemon juice and a dash of saline solution as a cool new ingredient.
Ingredients
1 oz. Glendalough Wild Rose Gin
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
1 dash saline solution
3-4 sprigs of fresh basil
Steps
1. Muddle the basil in a shaker and add other ingredients.
2. Add ice and shake to chill. Fine-strain into an ice-filled glass and garnish.
Tips
You will need a muddler, shaker, strainer, fine strainer. Serve in rocks glass.
