United Airlines taps Sodexo as sole partner for its worldwide lounges
The airline has also teamed up with a celebrity chef and mixologist.
United Airlines has made Sodexo its single service partner for all of its United Club and Global First Lounge locations worldwide.
In partnership with the foodservice vendor—who currently provides services at more than 30 United Club locations—the Chicago-based airline has also teamed up with celebrity chef and restaurateur Art Smith, who will contribute to United Club and lounge menu planning and design, as well as food preparation.
Mixologist Adam Seger will oversee bartender training and the carrier’s upgraded complimentary and premium spirits program, while the Disney Institute will provide hospitality training and support for all Sodexo employees working in United Club locations.
Officials say the partnerships are part of the carrier’s commitment to provide lounge visitors with an elevated experience.
"With the industry's most professional customer service agents, a portfolio of expanded, renovated and new lounges around the world, and an innovative approach to service excellence, we are committed to raising the bar and taking the customer experience to new heights,” United’s VP of foodservice and United Clubs Jimmy Samartzis said in a statement.
