Maine has introduced a bill to ban lunch shaming, The Press Herold reports.
The legislation, introduced by Sen. Joyce Maker, would ban lunch shaming throughout the state. The bill does not say who will cover the unpaid meals.
Maine is the latest state to address lunch shaming. At the start of the year, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced he is launching a program to end lunch shaming in the state, and California and New Mexico passed laws banning the practice last year.
